Tamala Jones Up In The Air?

By Sekou

So, follow me around the room.  I saw George Clooney dissing his date at the Oscars.  I got curious about the movie (Up In The Air), because I suspected he was just playing himself.  I watched it.  My suspicions were confirmed.  Then, I was surprised to see Tamala Jones (I think) in a pivotal bit part.  For those who haven’t seen the movie, I won’t give it away.  My question is this: Why is Jones not credited in the film that has so much buzz that it could revive her career?  I scoured IMDB and the film’s credits.  Am I missing something?  This is not a rhetorical post.  Hollah back.

Did you try asking Wilson? You know he is a walking encyclopidia when it comes to films.

I’m aware that I’m a little late to the party, but I agree that Tamala had a note worthy role in the movie. But after looking at both the movie’s and Tamala’s IMDB pages, neither of them mentions the connection. I would suspect that she would’ve at least included it on her page. Please do an update to the post if you find out why. I’m quite certain it was her. And I would be shocked and mystified if she had a doppelganger who so closely resembled and sounded like her.

Maybe she had a conflicting contract?

There should be some kind of petition or something on her behalf, and I’m surprised that more people aren’t making a bigger deal out of this given her importance of her character. When I first saw the movie, I couldn’t remember her name, so I waited until the end credits, and it wasn’t there. Then I checked IMDB and it wasn’t there either, but now I know it’s her, because as soon as I was able to put a name to a face on the Net, I confirmed it. I think it sucks but I suspect this falls under the category of “that’s the way things go in Hollywood”, which is why I suspect “her people” haven’t made a bigger deal out of this either.

I know, right? I may have to put on my UPTOWN hat. Hmmm.

My hubby & I just watched the film and also did a double take when we saw Tamala Jones as Karen. We weren’t sure it was her so waited for the credits & yep her name is not there, but it is her because I googled it and came upon articles that confirm it. I just wonder what happened…
